About.

Michael Robinson (He/His/Him) is a multidisciplinary artist, creative director, and educator. He serves as an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design, nominated three times for excellence in teaching. His clientele includes Grammy Award winner singer-songwriter Alicia Keys; MacArthur Genius Award winner choreographer Shen Wei; Wu-Tang's RZA; and legendary photographers Jim Marshall and Timothy White. His design work for Burners Without Borders in the Smithsonian Institution 2018, No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man exhibition, is now part of their permanent collection, and was also on view at the Nevada Museum of Art, the Oakland Museum of Art, and Cincinnati Art Museum. In 2016 he co-directed the VR piece Skin in the Game, a collaboration by Pharrell Williams, Daniel Arsham, Jonah Bokaer, and David Campbell, to create Rules of the Game. VR allowed viewers to experience performing on stage at the BAM Opera House and the Guggenheim Museum from the dancer's perspective. In 2020, Michael co-presented the Design Science Decade: Design For Impact panel with the Buckminster Fuller Institute at the Burning Man Project’s Burners Without Borders 2020 Spring Summit. Michael continued collaborating with the Buckminster Fuller Institute to develop the 2020-2021 Design Science Studio curriculum and is now a cohort alumnus.
